This privacy statement describes how we handle your personal data when you visit messagefromlove.com or berichtvandeliefde.nl and sign up for the waitlist of the book Message from Love.

What data do we collect?

  • Name and email address you submit through the signup form
  • Language preference derived from your country or chosen manually
  • Statistical data such as visited pages, click behavior, IP address, and device type, via Google Analytics 4. Only collected if you have given consent through the cookie banner.

Why do we use your data?

  • To keep you informed about the publication of Message from Love and related updates
  • To improve the website based on anonymized statistics
  • To demonstrate interest to publishers (in aggregated, non-identifiable form)

Who do we share your data with?

We share your data with the following processors:

  • Mailblue (ActiveCampaign, EU server), for sending emails
  • Netlify: for hosting the website
  • Google Analytics 4: for statistics (only with your consent)

We have data processing agreements with these parties. We never share your data with third parties for commercial purposes.

How long do we keep your data?

We keep your name and email address until you unsubscribe, or up to twelve months after the official publication of the book at most. Statistical data through Google Analytics is retained according to Google's standard retention period (14 months).

What are your rights?

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Have your data corrected or deleted
  • Restrict or object to processing of your data
  • Have your data transferred to another party
  • Withdraw your consent at any time
  • File a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl)

Email us at book@messagefromlove.com to exercise any of these rights. We respond within four weeks.

Cookies

We only use cookies for which you have given consent via the cookie banner. Functional cookies (to make the site work) are placed by default. Statistical cookies from Google Analytics 4 are only placed after you have given consent. You can update your preferences at any time by clearing your cookies via your browser, at your next visit you will see the banner again.

We may update this privacy statement. The most recent version is always on this page, with the date of the latest change at the bottom.
